Koehler Method Dog Training Philosophy
“To change the character of your dog favorably”

Koehler Method Dog Training has produced many well-behaved, reliable, responsible, thinking companions using a dog’s natural Pattern of Learning.

Action>Memory>Desire

Action: What you want your dog to do. Show him clearly so he can’t fail.

Memory: Provide clarity so he can commit it to memory. Rewards and Consequences. If I sit on command, I get a reward. If I refuse there’s a consequence.

Desire: If the action provided a pleasant memory, it increases his desire to repeat it. If the action provided an unpleasant memory, he will avoid repeating it.

Pam’s thoughts:
“Only rewarding a dog’s good behavior and ignoring the bad, does not build the character qualities of attentiveness, responsibility, discipline, subordination, patience, accountability, and reliability.
 Koehler Method Dog Training does.

Beginning with the very foundation of Koehler…
Week One: Attentiveness, my training class will set you on a course to “change the character of your dog favorably” and you will do it with minimal cost, in both time and money, and maximum benefit (the lifetime of the dog).

Without consequences in place, we would not have a moral society. We would have no order, only chaos. Not being held accountable for our actions, being unreliable and inconsistent, having little patience for others, short attention spans and no focus, no respect for others, am I the only one who thinks this sounds a lot like the kids we see?

We need structure in society. We need to be accountable for our actions. We need to be an obedient, know our place, what to expect, and it’s my belief our dogs do, too.

Koehler Method Dog Training is for all dogs, all breeds, all sizes, all shapes, all temperaments.

Imagine a dog who has the freedom to explore his environment with you….not dragging you through it, knowing where you are…. not running from you, ready to respond…not off in his own world, attentive for the next command…. ignoring the distractions around him…….and he’s off leash……. that’s a “Koehler trained dog. Ready to get to work?”
