Rehoming Success Story – Kipper

Kipper came to me from a training contract in which the family lived on a farm, and Kipper became defensive of his territory, and landed a few nips on the calves of workers coming onto the farm to work.

Kipper completed some private training lessons, but it became obvious while he was a quick learner, his family were not successful in transitioning him back onto the farm, and he went back to his old behavior of nipping.

I had placed two dogs with this family before, one a personal pet of my own, Dillon a mini aussie, and another aussie, Red, who was found on 144 in Vine Grove and they reached out to me as the aussie person they knew.

Both Dillon and Red lived happy productive lives as farm dogs, and when the family called me for their third dog, I didn’t have anything available.  They found Kipper, and like most folks, fell in love because he was beautiful. As an aussie, a farm dog, he is protective of his family/person, and left to attend to himself, he became quite good at displaying his talents.

I kept Kipper for almost two years, working him around other dogs, people, and never allowed him to make the decision to defend.  He turned into a regular love bug, and anyone and any dog could befriend him.

Pet Placement is available at Circletop Farm on a very limited basis. Living near Fort Knox, a transient community, for 40+ years,  I receive calls from my clients asking for help in rehoming their pets.  Over the past 6-7 years, I have been 99.9% successful in rehoming a few pets into new homes. If you would like me to consider your dog for my pet placement program, contact me privately.
